Melton Mowbray Action for Children Support Group
The group was formed in 1994 (National Children’s Homes Support Group in those days) and to date has raised £36752.02 for the charity!! The group presently has six members and organises fundraising functions ranging from
Naughty but Nice quizzes to Sponsored Walks,
from Cream Teas to Pig in a Poke auctions!
and from Fashion Shows to Supermarket Collections.
Our Christmas Carols evening at Great Dalby has become a very popular annual event. We meet on a bi-monthly basis to review past events and organise new ones.
In 2008 the group was very proud to be presented with the Stephenson Award (named, of course, after the founder of NCH on 9 July 1869, the Rev Thomas Bowman Stephenson) in recognition of the tireless work in raising money and awareness for NCH (AFC).

As a group we work so well together and strive to maintain our level of fundraising in an ever struggling financial climate. We have the pay back of knowing that we are helping those much more vulnerable than ourselves and having lots of fun in doing so.
